Default questions, questions

Hello:

This is my first post in this forum, it seems this forum is very complete as far as GW information is concerned. I am new to GW, I currently have a warrior level 8 in post searing he arrived at the Ascalon City. I have several questions.

1 - Do you need to be certain level in order to do certain missions?
2 - Do henchmen only join you in the main quest mission or can you hire them to go to certain areas for farming?
3 - What are the best quests to do first when you arrive at Ascalon City?
4 - Where can I find good weapon and armor for my warrior?
5 - Any tips and suggestions for a new person to GW would be greatly appreciated.

Pre-searing seemed very straight forward but I am finding myself a little bit overwelmed in post-searing wondering where to go and what to do next.

Thanks so much and I hope we can play together. My warrior's name is Thor Zanik, I am currently in a guild but we seem to do our own stuff anyway.

If this post belongs in another thread please move it if necessary.

Thanks...

Thor...

1. your level is good enough
2. You can go anywhere with your henchies
3. Any that you can find, missions are better because they give you better xp
4. Ascalon int dist 1, LA dist 1 for weapons (However they sell for high amounts there). For best armor it is in Droknars Forge, Granite Citadel, Marhan's Grotto.
5. Just play the game and learn as you go.

In order of appearance:

1) No. There's no actual level requirement for any mission, but a low-level character will deal less damage to and take more damage from higher-level monsters, as well as be likely to have worse armor and skills than the mission was designed to account for. If you get run past certain parts of the storyline, for example, you might not be up to the challenge in the missions of the area you arrive... but if you're playing through the game normally and grab new armor and skills as they become available, you shouldn't have too much or a problem advancing.

2) Henchmen follow you out of a town every time you add them to your party before leaving. This is excellent for missions and quests, but not so good for farming, because they "eat" drops. When an item drop is assigned to a henchman, gold drops instead, and all gold is shared throughout the party. You may get more firepower, but you'll end up with less of a profit.

3) The skill reward ones. Prophecies has some quests that reward you with free skills; complete them as soon as possible. Later, you'll have to buy skills from skill trainers, so each of these quests is saving you cash in the long run and letting you broaden your skill choices early. For specific quests and rewards, search through GuildWiki or the official Wiki, also accessible in-game by pressing F10.

4) Armor is available from armor crafters and collectors. The earliest post-Searing armor crafters are in Ascalon City; the next ones in Yak's Bend. Collectors are strewn about various zones; search GuildWiki (link above) for their precise locations.

5) Do all the quests. Some of them reward you with cash, some with items, some with skills, but you'll always get XP and find out more about the storyline. The original Guild Wars was designed to have a slow learning curve, so you should be just fine.

Oh, and welcome!

Thanks for your responses, I guess I will learn as I go like I did with pre-searing. I already did one quest in Old Ascalon City and my reward was learning a new axe skill, woot!

I guess, I'll just explore the areas, do quests and some missions.
